What to watch on TV tonight: Tuesday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Guard (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

After a long day of traipsing around parades and imbibing pints, The Guard might be the perfect film to settle with. Starring national treasure Brendan Gleeson as a hapless guard who gets paired with a slick American cop for an assignment, this is the most popular Irish film of recent years for good reason.

One Born Every Minute (Channel 4, 9pm)

The emotional cryfest returned for its seventh season last week and is as gorgeous as ever. Might make for unsuitable viewing if you’re dealing with a hangover and feeling fragile.

St. Patrick’s Festival Highlights (RTÉ One, 7pm)

RTÉ present highlights from this year’s festival, which ran in the capital over the weekend.

Everyone’s talking about… Sherlock

Series creator Stephen Moffatt has confirmed that the forthcoming special will be set in Victorian London. You know what that means? Gas moustaches and overcoats.

Moffatt told Entertainment Weekly that the special is a standalone.

The special is its own thing. We wouldn’t have done the story we’re doing, and the way we’re doing it, if we didn’t have this special.

A broadcast date has yet to be confirmed.
